Wicket for Wicketkeeper : Dhoni done it
Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Indian team is now out of the ICC Champions Trophy but skipper MS
Dhoni entered the history books during the match against West Indies
by taking a wicket of Travis Dowlin. Dhoni is the only wicketkeeper to
have scored 4000 or more runs, more than 100 victims behind the
wickets and a wicket as a bowler. It was Dhoni’s first over of his ODI
career.
Dhoni also became the 3rd wicketkeeper to get wicket in ODI career
after Tatenda Taibu (Zimbabwe) and Devon Thomas of West Indies.
Taibu and Thomas have two wickets to their credit. Taibu have also
scored 2020 runs in 108 One Day Internationals and 108 dismissals (94
catches and 14 stumpings). He took two wickets for 42 runs against Sri
Lanka at Harare on 29 April 2004. On the other hand Devon Thomas has
taken 2 for 11 against Bangladesh at Roseau on 28 July this year.
Interestingly it was Thomas’ debut match.
