Sanath Jayasuriya’s unlucky 10

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Jersey no 10 may be Lucky for Sachin Tendulkar or football star Diego Maradona but this figure is not that much lucky for Sanath Jayasuriya.
In the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy against South Africa at Centurion on Tuesday Sri Lankan opener Jayasuriya was out on 10.
This was the 8th time the master blaster was out on this number of score and his team has lost the match for 5 out of the 7 previous occasions.
First time Jayasuriya was out on 10 against Australia at Colombo (RPS) in 1999-00 and Sri Lanka lost that match by 27 runs.
However last time, in August 2008, when he scored 10, at Dambulla against India, his team won by 8 wickets.
Jayasuriya lost his wicket on 10 for twice against India, England and Pakistan.
